Chlobo's Closet Fashion: Spring Senstations

Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter and thoroughly enjoyed their long weekend! It was great that it also didn't rain the whole time - yay! Alas it is sadly back to work again tomorrow, but the silver lining is that we all get to plough through a short week again.

Having the longer weekend was a great excuse in my opinion to finally wear some of my new spring outfit choices, especially with the good couple of days to cram them all in. As you will see below Summer may not be quite here yet and our flowers in the garden, have not sprung into action but my Spring/Summer wardrobe has.

Therefore I thought I would share with you, some of my ultimate favourite picks from the break.

So I chose a really silly shady place to stand, apologies about the quality. I was in a rush and my photographer was itching to go out and have food (sorry Josh). I really love this whole ensemble though, I am head over heels for this khaki, Kim K inspired, fitted skirt. The pastel pink or blush body suit is a lovely fresh colour that was so easy to pair with the skirt. The body suit will be making another appearance later. The skirt has a  metal bar detailing down the side, which makes it look really edgy but can be glammed up by teaming it with a softer piece like the body suit. I know I will have loads of fun with both of these because there are endless ways to style them.

For Easter Sunday I thought I would go for a feminine, ladylike luxe look. When placing my orders, I purposely brought this pastel coloured, pinky, lilac skirt thinking it would be the same shade as the Missyempire body suit. Clearly it wasn't but it still works perfectly all the same. The skirt is beautiful, with a good quality, silky fabric, with flattering pleats. I didn't want to go to over board on accessories with this as it was quite colourful already. I chose to go for striking nude and red heart Vivienne Westwoods and a grey Michael Kors bag. I think if I owned grey heels, it would have looked better but I don't have any. Maybe one for the wish list.

I hope you have enjoyed my little show and tell of what I am calling my 'M' purchases this week. Enjoy the rest of your Bank Holiday and tune in next week.   Links are below for easier shopping.

Chlobo's Closet Fashion: Stratford-Upon-Avon Fashion Show

So if you read the previous post from last week, you should be aware that Chlobo's Closet was modelling for Gorgeous Obsession, in aid of the Stratford-Upon-Avon Hospice.

The show was a huge success and took place at 8.00pm, Wednesday at the Stratford Arthouse. So without further ado, we are here to tell you all about the glitz and the glam from behind the stage, to the lengths of the runway!

A long day for everyone involved, from the technicans to the make up and hair teams. There was no time to stop until the whole show was finished, which does not mean that every second was not an absolute blast!

With a few run throughs nailed over at the Arthouse, involving no trips or falls. We left feeling rather confident with ourselves and it was time to start getting into our roles, with the start of outfits, makeup and hair.

Hours in hair and make up with the Gorgeous Obsession team, before making our way down to the studios for a photo shoot pre-show. Huge round of applause to the girls who never sat down and had the patience of saints, doing make up and fitting wigs on everyone . The makeup and wigs definitely had everyone talking, with their vibrant colours and intricate makeup detailing, bringing all of William Shakespeare's, The Tempest characters from legend to modern day life.

After our fun and giggly photo shoot (professional photos will be coming soon!), we had around an hour to relax briefly, have some delicious food and a quick drink. Yes some models eat, well we did and thanks El Grecco for the amazing food!

Luckily we were on in the first interval, there is nothing worse than waiting around feeling a bag of nerves. Being backstage was fabulous, champagne was flowing and there was a true buzz to the atmosphere. Sharing our dressing room were the stunning girls representing Domino. The outfits were to die for, I certainly had my eye on a beautiful cut out dress, in a gorgeous water colour inspired print, topped off with a very on trend pastel pink cape (by Ted Baker at Domino, if you love it as much as me). In a way I am glad I didn't have time to watch any of the show, as my bank balance would have taken a massive hit. Take a look below at the cutest spring and summer looks from Domino, perfect for that wedding, christening or a day at the races.

Following Domino, was our dramatic entrance for Gorgeous Obsession. It only felt seconds we were on, but every moment was electric being back on a catwalk and what fun it was with those girls! I hope everyone who came liked it as much as we did, according to our artists floating around backstage we caused quite a stir.

Having slinked off the runway with all the sass we could physically and mentally muster, that was it - done for another time.

would like to thank everyone for their support, especially to all the girls at Gorgeous Obession for all their hard work! Thank you for letting Chlobo's Closet be involved!

With all the seats taken that night, I hope lots of money was raised for a good cause!

Hope you enjoyed our little insight into what was a great Wednesday well spent!

Chlobo's Closet Fashion: Stratford upon Avon Fashion Show

In aid of the Shakespeare Hospice, Stratford-upon-Avon is debuting a highly produced fashion show at the Stratford
Arts Centre. Some of the top brands  gracing the runway will be Gemini, BHS and Debenhams to name a few. Also included are the beautiful collections and arrangements from independent businesses based in the town.

I am bringing this to your attention, not only because this a fantastic local cause but because Chlobo's Closet was asked to be involved which is very exciting. We love all things fashion and make-up and we love helping charitable organisations.

Chlobo's Closet is thrilled to be working with one of our favourite beauty salons Gorgeous Obsession, who have been previously featured on the blog.

In an exclusive sneak preview, I can share with you a little of the very hard work gone into preparing for the look and theme, leading up to showtime on
Wednesday.

Gorgeous Obsession produces and sells it's own make up range called Gorgeous Tempest, created by the wonderfully talented CEO Rachel. In order to promote this in keeping with the show, whilst incorporating their other beauty treatments, the theme is the Tempest inspired by the cultural legend that is William Shakespeare. We cannot wait for you to meet our characters but you will have to tune in over the weekend for the full details, we like keeping you in suspense.  For now you can get excited over some of our sneak peaks and information below.

A fairly early call time for everyone, on a glorious, sunny, Sunday March morning and straight into it at the Arts centre. It was great having a glimpse of the stage and where the runway will be built so we could get a rough idea of the choreography. A good mornings work was achieved, practicing the run through, without any falls (I am praying I do not fall on the night, let's hope
I haven't jinxed that) and back to the salon for make up practice, nails for the big night and a wonderful tan. Big thank you to Rachel and Lily for making me look like I have just returned from a months holiday!  Take a look at the girls at work and what a wonderful team to work with. Great work girls, only a few more days to go!

Yours truly below, with the longest of talons you ever did see. All will be revealed soon!

There is something for everyone and I really hope you can join us in a fun filled evening doing some charitable deeds for others. Full show details below, see you there.
