Veets new beauty buzz

If you are anything like me who is finding life extremely busy at the moment and have no time to schedule your monthly Beauty routines in, this product is right up your street!!

I must admit I am always a bit sceptical about using at home wax treatments, as they never usually give you that salon experience everyone desires. However for first practice I would say this little treat in a tube is super easy and fast to use!

Ok so practice makes perfect and by the time I have used this up I have now got the swing of it.

Simply heat one end of the tube in boiling water and smooth on with the applicator over the area you want to treat.

Smooth over with your fingers the wax strip and then pull taut. With your other hand; prepare and rip ;) It really doesn't hurt, more just slightly uncomfortable but 100%durable.

Keep going and maybe use some tweezers just to tidy up afterwards.

Ok so it's still not salon quality but for the amount of times you use it and for the results with a fab saving, I'd say a definately good buy at £8.99 from Boots, Superdrug and other good leading Beauty suppliers. Thumbs up :) xx

See results below.

All in black and loving leather

Ok so this post is pretty much the same as the last one but what can I say?? Autumn is finally hammering on our doorstep so the tights have been pulled out!

I have a big pet hate that girls show too much flesh these days, yes call me old fashioned in my ripe age of early 20s but come on ladies leave something to the imagination! Its either boobs or legs not both, hence why I'm wearing opaque tights with a rather revealing top on.

Have so much love for this leather skirt at the moment, in fact just leather in general. See below for retailers.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!? X

An Indian summer

It feels like forever ago that it was summer and I was motivated and bouncy. I guess we had a pretty good run with the English weather though, for a first in years! The nice weather has only just become a distant memory which was only two weeks ago now.

This was in August, where I have spent my first summer in years back at home in England. Surprisingly enough I managed to catch a tan!
I love a good tan against white fabrics to really show it off.
This outfit ensemble is really 3, easy pieces; bodysuit, skirt and boots. From a distance one might even think you were in a chic cocktail dress.
I love this for a night look in summer because you can just about get away with flashing a little bit of flesh. It's pretty feminine for me I must say but I love a change :)

Hope everyone enjoyed their summer! X

The throwback brace shorts

I had to blog about these terrific tailored shorts!! I have owned these shorts for 9 years and maybe that is shameful of me but I love them so much for the quality and fit they had to be a keeper.

With a classic tapered fit and pin stripe lines (super flattering if its a vertical line) and cute braces, I don't think you can go wrong.

I have always worn this as a day to night look but I'm wondering now if I dress it up for work...?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend xxx

The funnest skirt to ever own...

I just had to blog about this little beauty! It is the most happiest, bright and out there skirt I've seen for a long while. Looking at it makes me smile, so i guess potentially it could make me smile for a fair proportion of the day.

I don't care if I look like a muppet, I quite like embracing my inner Mouseketeer at the moment :)

Biotique eyeliner

I had to write about my new bargain buy; for around £3.00 you can't really go wrong.

Biotique's eyeliner has a creamy, smooth texture that glides on really easily. It comes in a really cute  crayon shape that helps you with precise lining, also its ideal for your handbag.

The better benefit for your eyes is that the liner holds nourishing and conditioning ingredients in terms of almond oil and bio kaajal, keeping the peepers at bay from blues.

Plus it can't be all that bad as I hear they used it on Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean :)

'The chop'

So I went and got the chop, only a little bit though ;) My whole family would have a mental breakdown if I cut it all off again.
I am a hairdressers dream, I get extremely bored and it's usually around the time when I really hate my hairs look and behaviour that I end up saying "f&£k it do this to it I don't care".
So having always had a bit of a girl crush on Alice Dellal I went in and braved the oh so popular undercut.

Chlobo's Closet Denimwear Designs Take Off

Hey everyone, thought I would let you into a sneak peak of one of the many denim garments that have been restyled and reworked the last few weeks for Chlobo's Closet.

So it's a great idea taking old denim clothing and revamping it for a new look, with a personal edge. It is also really good for the environment which we all love ;)

This one is called the 'Chloe' jacket because I'm obsessed with leopard print and Mexican skulls.

Keep your eyes open for more items and for Chlobo's Closet in the future.

Feel free to contact me for an order or a request, suited to your tastes.

The Audrey Hepburn Shift

No matter what size or shape you are, you cannot go wrong with a black shift dress. Look at Victoria Beckham's collection and how she always relies on this cut but mixes it up with bright colours. It's chic, easy and reliable no matter what the occasion. I personcally love a dress like this because I feel like I have stepped onto the set of Breakfast and Tiffany's :)

This outfit was from the following retailers: Dress £7.99 H&M, Jacket Chanel, Necklace Flea market, Shoes Boden.

You can pick up this look from the other following retailers; Mango, Warehouse, M&S, New Look, Topshop.

This vest is off the wall!

Loving my new vans vest, it's so comfy and easy to wear. I wore it out in town with a pair of disco pants last night so it can be dressed up or down, whichever you prefer. Bargain for £3 I would say 😊

Start of summer maybe..?

So the weather is shining and being sweet, so its about time to fish out skirts/shorts and light tops :)

This ensemble is fairly simple and casual chic, with a denim pencil skirt which is super comfy, white tie shirt and some cute blue suede wedges (don't step on my blue suede shoes - sorry).  I think this is such a cute day time outfit, especially if you are out and about in the town.

The skirt if from Toppers, Shirt H&M and the amazing wedges I have been the proud owner of for years and years from Office.

I am sure by the time I finish writing this blog the sun will have gone in - this is England.

Loving Mina

Ahoy sailors!! So here I am with my silk frock from Mina - really I should have taken a close up so you can see the detailing on the print; it has anchors, boat steering wheels, with rope patterns etc.
I think the cut is very bohemian, it is very light and floaty but it might be a bit too floaty at the the front if you catch my drift ;) ..?
I do think this is a cute outfit for the day, teamed with red velvet JC's and a pie hat from Toppers, just make sure it is a day where running around is not involved as the front can be revealing.
I love this dress, I have had it since discovering Mina as a new designer. Mina is an amazing designer who embodies my kind of bohemian, floaty, hippy styles into her garments, read on for more on why she and her designs are the bees knees!
Mina is an african inspired clothing designer with exclusive afrocentric creations that take rise from the beautiful continent of africa. Her clothes often feature everything from vibrant batik’s, traditional ashante kente, bold tie dye’s that make a statement, to riveting wax prints and glamorous lace prints.
Not only is Mina a very talented lady persuing her fashion career with mind blowing creations she is also super woman who collaborates with dynamic young womyn in Ghana and Kenya who are actively pursuing a talent in which they love and are passionate about to create exquisite clothing. With Mina's designs trust me you will stand out and they will come to life on you whilst making a statement against injustice and helping her social movement ins equality for all! Now that is an amazing woman!
Keep up the amazing work Mina, much love xxxx

Racing for life! ❤

So recently I have been pumping it up at the gym, passing the time by and doing some training to get fit and toned ready for  summer. Everytime of this point of the year we always see an advert promoting charity and its events. I always see the race for life advert and every year I always ponder whether to do it or not and often as not like millions of others I don't.
In 3 weeks time it will be three years to the day my uncle John Bailey passed away from us.
My uncle was very fit and healthy and never once did he ever visit a doctor for anything. He was diagnosed with bowel cancer for about a year and after a year of undergoing new cancer treatment, we thought we were over the worse and he was told he was in remission. We started celebrations for this on my 21st birthday party in 2010. All the guests commented on how well he looked and how everything was starting tolook positive. Two weeks after my party Mum and I recieved a phone call saying that Uncle John had gone into hospital explaining that when he was gardening his gallbladder had errupted. Straight away the two of us jumped in the car to drive two hours to Salisbury and from that point everything is a blur. I felt bad for my Mum, this was her oldest brother out of the four of them and it was only me to support her which at the time I didn't think I could. When we got there,I knew how much pain he was in and as the three of us stood and held his hand, he fell alseep. Doing this and being there was the hardest thing to witness and to have to deal with and my sympathies go out to those who have been there and are there.
It has made me stronger as a person and the family is even more closer to eachother but the reason I am telling this story is that there must be a way to stop and fight this disease, especially with the way technology is moving
So please, all it takes is one person to act and to donate to charities or to be actively involved to do something.
This coming July I will not be sitting on my ass thinking that I will do that one day, I am going to run the race for life marathon and I will be doing it for Uncle John and everyone else who is battling that piece of s@%t illness.
If you are intersted in making a difference please, please dontate, you can sponsor me on the following link;

Modern day Marilyn

So I have woken up today in a really bad mood which doesn't help when you are running your own business and needing to be productive. So this morning having designed and sewn multiple fabric samples onto vintage denim jackets, I thought I would cheer myself up by taking a brisk walk out in the English sunshine in my modern Marilyn inspired outfit. I have to say the boots may look a tad odd with a classic trouser and jumper combo but I am in love with my new Minnetonka boots, they are soooo comfy!! ❤ Enjoy the rest of your days guys, peace ☮ xx

Met Gala 2013

I love looking at all the dresses and suits that line the red carpets, it's truly amazing at all the work and detailing that goes in to all of it from the designers. Take a glimpse at who I thought was the best dressed of the evening with gowns from Givenchy through to Burberry.

St Ives Spring Break 2013!

Spring Break Woohoo!!

So at the weekend my group of friends and I travelled down to sunny St.Ives in Cornwall for some surfing and to have a general relaxing break, having said that though I think we all feel like we need another holiday to recover. It was the best way to spend my birthday and I couldn't have shared it with a better bunch
