Spring is drawing closer, well that is what we keep telling ourselves anyway. With the beautiful array of snowdrops and daffodils popping up through the fresh, frosty grass on some mornings, we are thinking positive thoughts but until then, it is still cold and our ever expanding winter looks keep going.
At the present moment Chlobo's Closet is a little obsessed with bright and dark lip colours and a collection of reds seem to keep growing. Let's face it reds are timeless and are a fantastic staple to wear all year around. There is a right shade for everyone to achieve that flawless, chic, effortless look, albeit sometimes a little hard to find. Believe me I think I can remember a few occasions with the wrong one.
So until we really feel the urge to go all summery with our make up, we are going to stick with the classic red lip, until the weather man says otherwise.
Here is Chlobo's Closets top picks at the moment for a sexy, red pout!
MAC - Ruby Woo £15.50
The cult classic, adored by many and put onto the map by Rihanna. It gives a gorgeous matte finish, although it's so matte I really have to paint mine on with a lip brush. A great all rounder and suits many skin tones.
Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Lip Stain - Orange de chine 8 £26.00
A big hit, super glossy, without the gloopy sticky feel on your lips. Gives a beautiful depth of colour and lasts for hours without a retouch.
Clinique Colour Pop + Primer - Pashion Pop £16.00
A visit to the Clinique stands has been in order this month, with all the whispering of these new inventive products they keep releasing. This is a light, moisturising lip colour which lasts for up to eight hours, with a stand out vibrant shade - hence the title pop! Also it does a two in one job, colour and a primer, thanks Clinique! Handbag staple!
Chanel Rouge Coco - 84 Dialogue £22.50
Super hydrating lip colour, that glides on smoothly, with long lasting, bold colour. Every shade in the collection tells a personal story linked with Gabrielle Chanel and who does not love a story involving the founder Mademoiselle Chanel?
Remember not all shades suit everyone, it is as we all know trial and error. Ask a friend or partner when out shopping what it looks like on you or better still ask the counter staff, who are trained to help you.
Enjoy shopping everyone.
